#13 – Exercises whilst away from home

Hey guys, another week on the Road to Hawaii and another week closer to us all achieving our fitness goals and those bodies we have spent dreaming of.

I’m currently on a short weekend trip away in Newquay with friends, so I’m hoping to try and incorporate some outdoor exercise to replace the gym I’d usually do on a weekend. I want to show you some quick and easy exercises you can do if you are away and don’t have access to the gym.

Because I’m away, I don’t have the facilities nor the time to spend on my fitness as normal, but you know how the saying goes – every little helps.

This is what I’ve tried split my workout down to, as well as exercises you can use whilst you are away:

  • Plank
  • Press Ups
  • Body squats
  • 10-15 minutes cardio (skipping/jogging)

I always try to add a plank into my exercises if I am in a hotel room or away from home with no access to the gym. It takes 1-2 minutes to try and hold for, and this is going to help strengthen your core and abdominal muscles.

Press ups are good for helping to strengthen your upper body and arms. They will trim your body and also help your core as well.

Body squats will target your leg muscles to help strengthen them, and again – squats are a great way to help tighten and tone your core.

As you can see from the above, there’s a pattern occurring. Strengthen and core. Because we aren’t using weights, then we can’t necessarily grow our muscles bigger, but using our body weight is going to help tighten and tone those muscles thus helping them get stronger in the interim.
